World War II Handbook for Wives

On a dusty shelf at a local consignment shop, we found a 1940 US Army Publication called the Army Handbook for Wives.  Here’s a note we received from the buyer:

I'm presently serving in the US Army w/ the 82d ABN Div, FT Bragg, and NC.  I purchased the handbook as a going away gift for my Battalion Commanders' wife.  In the Army we have a support group that is called the Family Readiness Group and his wife heads our Battalion group.  These groups are the support for all the families left behind by the troopers who deploy.  We have over 750 in our Battalion. After two combat deployments, I wanted to find something unique to show her our thanks.  Your Handbook was perfect.
